Packing for a crop

I have not attended a crop in several years.  I have a very well-stocked scrapbook area at home, so I usually gather with friends here.  But my Stampin’ Up consultant added last minute weekend crop at a nearby hotel and I am eager to get out and join the crop community again.

I have attended a few retreat events, but they were basically class events, not independent cropping so I did not need to pack anything other than my basic tool kit; so I need to plan out what I will be taking to get the most out of my crafting time.

I have created a packing list specific to this event.  I will not be staying overnight at the hotel since it is nearby, so I do not need to pack clothes and such; just what is needed for scrapbooking.

The first thing to consider is what I hope to accomplish and plan ahead by making up kits and printing photos when possible.

I do plan to bring my Epson Picture Mate PM-400 so I will be able to print photos as needed, but I would rather spend my time crafting rather than printing photos.

So let’s get started on what I will need.

I’ll start with my Basic kit, the one that I need for almost all projects.

o   Scissors

o   Trimmer (Spare Blades)

o   Adhesive (wet & dry) Refills

o   Pencil

o   Eraser

o   Piercing mat & tool

o   Foam Tape

o   Wet Wipes

o   Stitching Supplies

o   Case for finished pages

o   Pop up waste basket

Then I will move on to the extra tools & equipment. There will be a Cricut machine and die cutting machine available for use so I don’t need to pack those

o   Power Cord w/ USB

o   Ott Light (spare Batteries)

o   Shelf

o   Post – it Notes

o   Moving sliders (for chair)

o   Photo Printer

o   Photo Paper

o   Cricut Mat

o   Cutting Machine (in car)

o   Basic Dies

Extra Tools:

We can’t forget the personal items that will make the crop more enjoyable and comfortable.

Personal Items:

o   Phone

o  Charger

o   iPad

o   Water Bottle

o   Sweater

o   Fan

o   Slippers

o   Chapstick

o   Spare Readers

o   Lens Cleaning wipes

o   Tissues

Of course, because I am commuting, I will have my car available to keep extra things in case I need them but I would rather not pack my whole crop room so I’m going to keep that to a minimum.

  • Cooler
  • Soda
  • Bottled Water
  • Small table

And finally, I need to consider project specific items I will need.  That is going to be part I need to really think about.

Project Specific:

o   Printed Photos

o   Page Kits (pre-pack)

o   Tag Dies

Now that I have gathered all the items I expect to need, I can feel comfortable heading to the crop knowing I am prepared. If you would like a copy of my checklist you can save the photo below.

I also have a video on my YouTube channel where I walk through everything I will be bringing so please come check it out and leave me a comment so I know you were there.
