The Inspiration Station June 13, 2014 Welcome to The Inspiration Station Dear Debra, We have several new subscribers this week so I would like to welcome you all to our newsletter.  The Inspiration Station has been serving Connecticut's papercrafters for more than 12 years and we enjoy meeting all of the new people who visit us.  I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate our two Graduates here at The Inspiration Station.  Terry's son, Alex, graduated from 8th grade last night; and our wonderful Saturday girl, Kristen, will be graduating from high school next week!  Please join me in wishing them continued success as they move on to the next step in their education.  It's hard to believe that summer is at hand, and in New England you just never know what that means.  What it means for many is a bit more free time and a less rigid schedule.  We hope if your schedule allows, you will plan to visit or take one of our awesome classes! Speaking of summer schedules - I want to let you know that we will be having summer hours during the month of August.  I know it's a ways away, but often times we have people who travel and I want to give you a "heads up". During the month of August ONLY - we will be closed on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday. It is typically very slow in that month and closing will allow us to have some work done on the store.  Our big project is painting the front of the store and that will take some time and require ladders and scaffolding out front so we are going to take advantage of the closed days for that. We are looking forward to the "facelift"!  Our open hours for August will be: Thurs-Fri 10am - 6pm, Saturday 10-5pm and Sunday noon-4pm. Summertime also means "Christmas in July" which is always a big day.  This year, Donna will be hold those classes on Sunday, July 20th.  The first class (noon-2pm) will be assorted Christmas cards, the second class (3pm-5pm) will be some type of Christmas project, we'll have more details soon.  I recommend you sign up early to avoid being left out.  These classes always fill quickly, many times before the samples are even posted. Payment is required at the time of sign up. Oh, and did I mention - We are also working through our papers and stamps and clearing out many older designs in order to make room for the new that will be arriving!  As always, we continue to bring in new products weekly to inspire you. Mark your calendars and make plans to register early. First up is Nathalie Metivier from Magenta Rubber Stamps! Last time she was here, the ladies persuaded (ok, begged) her to come back to teach this class!  You may need to ask for the day off from work to take it because it is a 6 hour class and due to her schedule, only available on Monday, June 9th.  Trust me, it is worth taking a day off for! Seating is limited - call today to register! ********** Also in the same week (sorry, but that's how the schedule worked); Eileen Hull from Sizzix will be bringing her Papertrail Tour to the Inspiration Station on  Wed., June 11th.  Learn tips and techniques from die designer Eileen Hull using ScoreBoards dies-specially designed to cut and score thick materials like matboard and chipboard. These dies are unique to Sizzix and produce a satisfyingly sturdy project that may enjoyed for years. There are so many ways to use dies- and often they work in ways you would not expect! This may look like an art canvas but it is a "4 x 4" functioning box that can be used to hold cookies, jewelry, treats and special gifts. Use as a home decor piece or as a favor box- the choice is yours! We will decorate it as a canvas but always looking outside the box for ways to use your dies.
