Off on a personal note

It is my goal to keep this blog a happy place full of inspiration. But every now and then something catches my attention and I want to share some info with my friend. If that doesn’t interest you, please come back another day- today I am going to indulge.

A few days ago, my favorite creative muse, Tim Holtz, put a story on his blog about an artist friend of his who rescues animals and is asking for help to build a shelter in Tennessee. I followed the link to her site, A Place to Bark, and was so moved by the work she is doing. He has a badge on his blog to donate money to the organization and many of his followers have done just that, myself included.

So that got me thinking…

Many of you have been reading my blog for a while and know about my experiences with the feral cats that live around me. (You can go back and read my posts here and here if you are interested). The organization that helped me, Our Companions, is listed through the same fundraising program. Now, I have nowhere near the readership of Tim Holtz… but I have added a badge to my blog to raise money to help Our Companions. . I do not receive any money for this. Everything is handled through the Network for Good. The kitty in the photo is my first rescue, Boo. Since August I have trapped, neutered, vaccinated and released six additional cats.

It is my hope that if or when you are looking for a way to help homeless animals, you will consider donating to Our Companions. They have been a wonderful resource for me and they offer many services for animals in Connecticut.

Since this is Easter weekend and many are celebrating the gift of “a new Life”, I hope you will see this as a chance to offer the same hope to homeless animals.

Now back to the regularly scheduled blog.

Graphic 45 Transatlantic & Stamping Bellas have arrived

I know many people have been anxiously awaiting the new Graphic 45 line Transatlantic - It is here and it is drop dead gorgeous! This one will not be here long, I will need to put a re-order together very quickly.

Also, the stinkin' cute Stamping Bella rubber stamps arrived and they are begging me to take them home. These are unmounted rubber stamps which means you need to mount them your self. All I do with mine is put some double stick tape on a clear block and stamp on a cushioned surface. Nothing terribly difficult.

A big ol' shipment of American Crafts paper, Thickers, journaling stickers, rub-ons and albums also arrived on Thursday (9 boxes!) and we are still digging through those.

We are OPEN today (Good Friday) but closed on Easter Sunday. Hope you all have a wonderful day with your families!

Fiskateer event

We are so lucky to have a great friend who also happens to be a Lead Fiskateer. Kelly Jo is always so much fun to have visit and in the coming weeks she will be with us several times. She has graciously offered to come and demo all kinds of Fiskars products on National Scrapbook Day (May 2) from 10am-2pm. She also planned to have the regional Fiskars 360th Birthday crop here at The Inspiration Station on June 6th. Of course, as soon as she announced the date to some of her Fiskateer friends- it sold out immediately! So, not wanting to disappoint anyone, she added another date. So June 20th is your chance to come and crop with fellow Fiskateers. The crop will be 10am - 6pm and cost only $15. Please call the store (860) 684-2641 to register before this one sells out too!
